The Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) attracts over 1 million visitors every year from across UK and beyond oozing an airy, open and positive vibe, it boasts 80 acres of parkland and picturesque setting ideal meaningful conversations during the break periods.

The Centre

MAC is accessible by public transport and has ample parking. A spacious cafeteria serving hot/cold food and refreshments with outdoor seating encouraging participants to take their conversations under the sun. More information is available on the Midlands Art Centre website.

High quality, performance theatre consists of tiered seating, with high tech AV and lighting facilities including backstage dressing rooms.

By Bicycle

MAC is in the middle of National Cycle Route 5 and is readily accessible by bike from Birmingham City Centre and further afield. We have two bike racks located at both entrances to the building. We also have another bike rack at the rear of the terrace facing Cannon Hill Park.

You can also reach us via West Midlands Cycle Hire. Our nearest docking stations are at Edgbaston Road, Bristol Rd (opposite Edgbaston Stadium) and at Birmingham Wildlife Park nearby. You can hire a bike from over 50 locations in and around Birmingham City Centre.

By Bus

1: From Five Ways, Edgbaston, Moseley and Acocks Green. The no 1 stops right outside MAC on Edgbaston Road.

35: From City Centre, Balsall Heath, Moseley and Kings Heath. The no 35 stops just around the corner from MAC on Willows Road.

45/47: From City Centre (Carrs Lane), Selly Park, Stirchley, Cotteridge and Kings Norton. The buses stop on Pershore Road, five minutes walk from MAC.

x61/63: From City Centre (Carrs Lane and Smallbrook Queensway), Rubery, Rednal, Gannow, Northfield and Selly Oak. All three buses stop ten minutes walk from MAC on the Bristol Road, near the Priory Road/Bristol Road traffic lights.

By Car

Birmingham is accessible by the M5, M6, M40 and M42 motorways. Please follow the signs for MAC throughout the city – we are located opposite Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

City Centre: From Birmingham City Centre, take the A441 to Redditch. Approximately 2 miles from the centre of Birmingham, turn left into Edgbaston Road. You will see the entrance for MAC on the right approximately 150 metres ahead after the traffic lights.

Car parking:
Birmingham City Council manages the Queen’s Ride car park next to MAC, Pershore Road car park next to the Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park (BWCP), and the smaller Russell Road car park.

Car park closing times: Edgbaston Rd (next to MAC) and Russell Road entrance closes at 11.30pm daily. Pershore Road entrance next to BWCP closes at 6pm daily.
